February, 2015, has been one of the coldest Winter months on record in the Ottawa area.
Today (Saturday, the 7th of March, 2015) wasn’t so bad, though – it was close to zero degrees C – in fact I was sweating with my toque on to re-enact the frigid days of my stay here when the hat was really essential to keep my ears from freezing right off!
But, I was just joking around with my friend Dave today during a photo shoot for this website. The OC Transpo bus shelter was pretty vacant, being a weekend, so there was lots of room to crash for a few moments.
We both walked my daily walk of about three quarters of a mile from the Rotel motel to Radiation North at the Cancer Centre of the Ottawa General Hospital – to get some footage of the route and lose a bit of belly fat as an added bonus.
I really believe that these walks – sometimes 3 a day and adding up to 3-5 miles – have helped stave off the potential side effects of the radiation treatment.
Anyway, Dave was carrying the camera (his Samsung tablet) while I was sauntering ahead of his ‘bouncing’ focus – only problem was that his motion made you sea sick watching the video – but we did eventually glam on to this ‘photography 101’ concept before the battery died (da!).
So, put away your Gravol – you won’t need it to watch the real footage – coming soon.
